Still Holding Your Breath? Let’s Talk About Stuck Energy

Back in February, I wrote about how hard it can be to trust the good things when they arrive. I told you a story about my garden, the squirrels, and the part of me that still braces for disaster, even when the peaches are ripening and everything looks just fine.

But recently, this theme returned in my coaching space with a new twist:
What happens when you have the money, the green light, the job you love... and you still feel like you can’t move forward?

In May’s group coaching session, I spoke with a client who’s saved up for a car she needs—and still can’t bring herself to spend the money. Not because she doesn’t want the car. But because something deep down says, “What if I need this later? What if everything falls apart?”

And oh, do I understand that voice.

In the short video excerpt, I share a story about my own garden fears (yes, raccoons are involved) and what our nervous systems tend to do when we’ve been trained by life to expect disruption. I also talk a bit about money as energy—and what happens when that energy doesn’t move.


💡 Mini Mindset Practice: Move the Energy

This is for the times when you’re not frozen with fear, just… inexplicably stuck.

Try this:

  • Name it kindly:
    “I’m holding back even though things are okay.”
    No judgment. Just awareness.

  • Touch in:
    Place a hand in the Heart Metta™ position.
    Say, “It’s safe to let this move.”

  • Move—literally:
    Stretch. Take a short walk. Shake your hands out. Let your nervous system feel motion.

  • Remind yourself:
    “I’ve done the work to be here. I’m allowed to receive. I’m allowed to say yes.”

Ease is not a trap. Trusting what’s good doesn’t mean you’ve let your guard down—it means you’ve chosen to live in the present.

And if you need to keep choosing it, day by day, breath by breath, you’re not alone.
